Volume model
Topocad Volume Model is an add-on module that requires Topocad Base Module.
(NOTE: Annual maintenance fee of 20% of the license value will be added starting next month)
With Topocad's Volume Model module, you can quickly and easily calculate quantities between a terrain model and a plane, between two terrain models, between a terrain model and a point cloud, between two point clouds or from a shaft bottom and with automatic slopes to two terrain models.
Volume Model has three different types of calculations; automatic slopes, two models and sections.
Automatic slopes
This calculation provides quantities between one or two terrain models and the shaft bottom in the form of one or more closed lines.
Create terrain models for soil and possibly rock and then specify the shaft bottoms against which the calculation should be made. The result is a report with areas for all surfaces and quantities for both earth shaft, rock shaft and fill.
Two models
The calculation provides quantities between two terrain models, two point clouds, between a terrain model and a point cloud or against fixed planes regardless of their appearance.
The command is fast and in addition to a detailed report, the result can be displayed as difference level curves, as level curves and surfaces or as thermal colors. The result can also be displayed graphically in a grid. Areas, heights and volumes are displayed in the grid interval that is set up.
Multi-calculation
A function where volumes can be calculated from an unlimited number of terrain models or point clouds and calculate several different volumes in parallel (for example soil, rock and fill volumes). The output data will be solids, sections, profile and report.
Volume balance
This function is used to level a theoretical surface against a ground model by finding a balance between the excavation and fill volumes. This function helps you save time and materials.
Sections
Based on two terrain models, this calculation provides sections between the terrain models as well as the volume between the two.
With the Point Cloud module as an add-on, point clouds can also be used in section calculations and when calculating two terrain models against each other.
