The light plumb line is mostly used for level measurements in wells, groundwater pipes and boreholes. The main parts of the device are a coil with a meter-graded steel tape ("tape measure") and a sensor. When the sensor, which is located at the bottom of the tape measure, reaches the water surface, an indicator light in the coil lights up, after which you simply read the level on the tape measure.
The OTT KL 010 also has a buzzer sound indication as standard. There is a bottom sensor as an accessory, i.e. an addition that indicates if/when the sensor reaches solid bottom.
A "regular" light plumb line only indicates water level, and possibly solid bottom with the optional bottom sensor. If you also need to measure the temperature of the water, you should take a look at the OTT KL 010 TM
