This signal generator is made cheaper by using standard Alkaline D-Cell (LR20) batteries, the DA175 still retains all the frequencies found in the DA220 and DA230. This makes it compatible with all cable detectors. The DA175 is only available in the 1-watt version.

The knob on the outside makes it easy to set the Leica DA175 signal generator to any mode you want to switch. The low frequencies can only be used if the signal is applied directly to the cable using the clamps

Available frequencies
- 512Hz: minimum dispersion, very long distances, only works by applying signal with clamps directly to the cable.
- 640Hz: small spread, long distance, only works by applying signal with clamps directly to the cable.
- 8kHz: normal diffusion, medium distance (avoid)
- 33kHz: wide spread, short distances (avoid)
- Therefore, the DA175 can also be used with all Leica cable detectors in the 100 and 200 series
- Leica DA175, 1 Watt Transmitter output frequency 33kHz, 8kHz, 640Hz and 512Hz. runs on 4 alkaline D cells. (cannot be used in combination with the battery in DA220 or DA230)
